Esprit??
You may be asking, does Esprit still live here at the Ogle home? The answer is yes! Between school, work and boyfriend Daniel we don't see as much of Esprit as we used to. Here are Esprit and Daniel in Esprit's room.
Your eyes do not deceive you, that's lime green on the walls AND Spiderman in the background.
Koi Show
Before Indy's baseball practice on Sunday we took a drive down to the Del Mar Fairgrounds to the the 20th Annual Koi Show. We've never been to a Koi show. There were some beautiful Koi. We weren't buying, just looking.

After leaving the Koi Show we decided to stop in the town of Del Mar and take a walk down by the water. For all the trips we've taken to the Del Mar Fair, we realized that we have never seen the town of Del Mar. It's so quaint. Indy decided that we need to go back and stay for a longer visit when we have the time.

Welcome Home and Happy Birthdays (Belated)
This past Saturday afternoon Dad, Gerd and my brother James drove down to take Scott and Indy out for their Birthdays. (Nicholas wasn't feeling well so he stayed home this trip). This was the first chance we've had to see Gerd since her return from visiting with her family in Sweden. WELCOME HOME, GERD!
Scott and Indy scored... Not only did they get to go to LuLu's for dinner, they each got soccer shirts direct from Sweden! Scott hasn't modeled his for the camera yet, but Indy put his shirt on straight away and then wore it for another 2 days. Perfect gift, Grandma.

Okay - so Esprit and I got presents too, even though it wasn't our Birthdays. Esprit got a beautiful scarf and decorated tray. I got a red felt heart shaped hotpad, tablecloth (with hearts on it) egg beater, cheese slicer and Swedish crafts catalog.

Is it Friday Yet????
It feels like this was a long week, although our routine was pretty much the same as usual. There was a time when we greeted Friday with a sigh of relief as we wound down from a hectic week and looked forward to a relaxing weekend. Tomorrow marks the official start of Indy's two sport Spring season. Spring Select Soccer scrimmage 9:00am and Little League Baseball practice game 12:00noon. (Indy is on the Major Mets team.) Baseball practice again on Sunday. The remainder of the season will see us at 2 practices a week for each sport (on the same days, of course) and 2 baseball games plus 1-2 soccer games each week. Indy will be well conditioned. Scott and I should be too!
We're hoping to get some non-sport activity in over the weekend as well, but more on that later. Off to sleep we go.

Welcome Precious Adrianna!
Scott's niece, Melissa, delivered a healthy baby girl this morning. We are so excited. CONGRATULATIONS!

I LOVE CANDLES !!!!!
I've always liked candles. Then, a number of years ago, I was introduced to Partylite candles... I fell in LOVE with candles. Partylite are the cleanest burning candles. The tea lights and votive candles liquefy while burning and return to their solid state when cooled. You literally burn ALL of the candle until the wax completely disappears from your container. The liquid is stunning burning in clear containers.
Everywhere I go I look for new holders to burn candles in. A few years ago while at a friends home I noticed they had a candelabra over the dining room table. No electricity, I LOVED IT! And so I have been on a mission to convert my UGLY lighting fixture in our dining room over to a candelabra. It took a while to convince Scott, and I needed to find just the right design. I found it! and for Christmas, 2006, Scott bought it for me. We decided to make a small modification and add a spotlight in the center. Scott's workmate, Kelly welded the pieces together for us. THANK YOU! Kelly, it looks fantastic. We still have a little tweaking to hide the spotlight a little better, but here it is...

This style is called Moroccan. Doesn't that sound exotic? We don't really go with any one style here in the Ogle home. It's basically whatever we like all mixed in together:) There are 5 different colored votive cups. I'm still debating all the different colors and may end up switching some out.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY INDY!
We celebrated Indy's 12th Birthday this past Tuesday, 2/6. Actually, we celebrated beginning last Friday and all the way through Tuesday! We LOVE Birthdays here at the Ogle Home. We celebrate for an entire weekend (plus our special day if it falls during the week!) by basically doing anything the Birthday boy or girl wants to do. How cool is that????
Indy got to choose where we ate. Which is pretty huge. As most of you know, we eat out A LOT :) Indy had baseball practice on Saturday afternoon followed by family cosmic bowling. Baseball practice again Sunday followed by more bowling with neighbor Matthieu, Scott and Indy and topping off the weekend with Scott, Esprit and Indy playing pool at BigShots.
Come Tuesday morning Indy was presented with his "Birthday Tie" (see photo). This is Indy's equivalent to the "Birthday Tiara". I decorated a black silk tie with a birthday candle followed by 12 marks, one for each year. The idea is for Indy to wear this tie on every birthday, we'll add a new mark every year. Esprit and I drove Indy to school, walking him to the playground and making sure the "boys" knew it was his special day. They were all quite impressed with "the tie" and buddy Cory said he would make sure it stayed on all day! (By day's end the fabric paint I used was lifting off the silk, to I'll have to find another tie and embellish that for our tradition to continue)
At lunch time, Scott came home and inflated 30 balloons for Indy to be greeted with when he arrived home from school. Indy LOVES balloons and had a huge smile when he walked in the door!
Not long after, it was off to baseball practice. We took cupcakes to celebrate and Indy was serenaded by his teammates. We completed the evening with dinner at Don Jose's, without Esprit as she had class (:
Happy Birthday, Indy. I Love You.

I'm Blogging !!
I can hardly believe that I'm actually going to "launch" my Blog site. I've been wanting to get this started since last August when my friend, Michelle, launched her Blog. I've been jealously watching as Naomi and Jessica followed. I am in awe of their Blogs and so a little intimidated as I begin.
So, here I am... posting my first entry. Scary... I'd like to say that I'll post every day, but, most likely NOT! That will have to be a goal I work toward. I'm hoping my Blog will be a therapeutic place for me (a diary of sorts). A place for me to post my personal thoughts. A place to post photos and events that might be of interest to family and friends.
If you've found your way here, ENJOY!
